Now introducing
- Classical Homeopathy

Are you like many others - searching for a more natural, holistic approach to self care?

Academy Massage Therapy introduces Classical Homeopathy, with homeopath Nancy Graham, DHom - an individual holistic approach to health and wellness which considers a person in their entirety.
“Every individual has a physical body, mind, emotions and spirit - which is also known as the vital force. It is this vital force which supplies energy to every cell in your body. Life cannot be sustained without it,” explains Nancy. “The Classical Homeopathy approach to health and wellness focuses intensely upon each person’s individual vitality and strength, and unique vital force,” she continues. “Once your vitality is restored on this energetic level, healing begins from the inside out.”
Nancy demonstrates the individualistic approach in practical terms.
“What one person is prescribed for a headache, for example, will differ from what is given to another person - because we all have our own unique expression of a headache.”
“This is because one of the main principles in homeopathic prescribing is “cures like cures”. This means the homeopathic remedy must match the totality of symptoms or the whole picture of your suffering.”
Nancy has a diploma in Classical Homeopathy and Naturopathy, through a four year program at the Montreal Institute of Classical Homeopathy, a diploma in Massage Therapy with 21 years experience, and is a certified reflexologist.
“I am truly humbled to have been able to follow my heart’s calling into this holistic health field,” says Nancy. “First I healed using homeopathy, and now I offer my service as a fully-accredited homeopath. I look forward to our journey together.”

Swedish Massage

By far the most popular form of massage, Swedish Massage “relaxation massage” was popularized by early 19th century Swedish fencing master and gymnastics teacher Henrik Ling. Swedish massage involves long, flowing strokes, often in the direction of the heart, along with kneading and circular movements, all while using massage lotion or oil to minimize friction. Used most often for its relaxation benefits, Swedish massage is the common “introductory” technique for people who have never experienced massage before.

Ear Candling

Ear Candling assists with drawing earwax and other impurities out of the ear canal by a partial vacuum created by a candle flame. The narrow end of a hollow tapered candle is placed in a person’s ear, while the other end is lit. A comforting treatment that also assists with general well-being.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is massage therapy that focuses on realigning the deeper layers of muscles & connective tissue. It is most beneficial for tight and tense muscles or over-worked areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, sore shoulders and legs.

Some of the same strokes are used in Swedish Massage Therapy, but the movement is somewhat slower and the pressure applied is deeper and always focuses on areas of tension.

It is important during deep tissue massage to inform your therapist if pressure is too heavy or too light.

Sport Performance & Massage

Sport Massage is the application of deeper, more stimulating Swedish techniques. Our registered massage therapists offer sports massages that are extremely useful for enhanced performance, some of which can be applied on the day of a specific event.

Maintenance Sports Massage

The intent of a maintenance sports massage is to facilitate muscle recovery with focused deep tissue massage using passive and active stretching. Helping maintaining optimal range of motion is critical to the athlete’s performance during training.

Post-Event Sports Massage

1 - 3 hours after an event or activity is optimal. The goal is to flush out muscles and restore nervous system activity to normal pre-activity levels. Usually lighter pressure, coupled with passive stretching. This will eliminate lactic acid build up, which in turn aids healing time and decreases delayed onset of muscle soreness

Couples Massage

It is important to book your couples massage well in advance as we need to ensure one of our couples rooms will be available.

Two tables and two therapists are setup where each person receives individualized treatment simultaneously. Couples massage is a shared experience that can strengthen your closeness.

Couples Massage are arranged in order for two people to enjoy each other’s company, talking is quite appropriate, or you may prefer to remain quiet. The choice is yours. As with an individual massage, you will be covered at all times with a sheet and only the area being treated will be accessed.

Your therapist may need to discuss areas of concern (i.e. tension in certain areas of your body), during your couples massage treatment if you do no wish to discuses these types of issues in the presence of your loved one please relay your wishes to your therapist before your massage therapy session begins.

Hot Stone Massage

If an escape from the cold winter months is what you're looking for, you'll find it in our Hot Stone Massage. Our stone's are heated and placed along the spine and other areas of the body as the therapist works in fluid motions rolling the oiled stones over the skin, acting as a warm and comforting extension of their hands.

Lava Shell Massage

Lava Shell Massage is a deeply comforting and relaxing full body massage which uses naturally self heating Tiger Clam shells from the sun kissed shores of the Philippines. These marine polished sea shells glide smoothly over the body and are used as massage tools to release muscle tension and blocked energy flow to provide a sense of balance to the entire body and mind.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to affect corresponding parts of the body through the nervous system. By applying technique a reflexologist can break up stress found in other parts of the body.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote healing and a feeling of well being and relaxation in the recipient. The essential oils are extracted from the parts of herbs and plants and contain all the properties of the plants themselves. There are several ways of applying the oils, including adding the oils to your bath, or inhaling them, but the most popular and effective is through massage.
